Men’s Hockey World Cup 2023: Everything you need to know

The Hockey World Cup 2023 in India has started on a high note and four exciting matches will be played today. Where all eyes will be on the match between India and Spain. The Indian team would like to start the tournament by winning this match. This match will be played at Rourkela Stadium in Odisha. Apart from this, other teams including Argentina, Africa, Australia and France will also be seen in action mode today.

The excitement of the 15th World Cup of Hockey begins today (January 13). The tournament will begin at 1 PM with the match between Argentina and South Africa. Today the Indian team will also face the Spanish team. This match will start from 7 pm. The bronze medalists of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and the runners-up of the Indian team of the 2022 Commonwealth Games will have the upper hand in this match.

The Hockey World Cup 2023 is being organized in India only. Two cities of Odisha (Bhubaneswar and Rockela) are hosting the World Cup. All 44 matches will be played in these two cities. Please tell that 16 teams are participating in this World Cup. Four pools have been drawn and each pool has four teams. The top team in each group will earn a direct spot in the quarter-finals, while the second and third placed teams in the group will be able to reach the quarter-finals through episodic matches.
