Founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal revealed on Twitter today that Zomato Pro Plus will be offered to select app users.
The key feature was highlighted in the form of unlimited free delivery that a Zomato Pro Plus user can avail, with Goyal referring to it as “something like Amazon Prime”. Zomato promises to charge no extra charges for on-demand peak hour delivery, no distance charges. Restaurants by farthest distance, and all the benefits of Current Pro for existing Zomato Pro customers. This plan will remove any delivery charges for the entire period this subscription is in operation. Responding to the user’s post, Goyal also said that his company will “pay the full cost” of deliveries made through Zomato Pro Plus, and delivery riders will continue to receive their incentives as usual.
The exact price and structure of the Zomato Pro Plus subscription plan has not been disclosed. Goyal confirmed on Twitter that RBL Bank Zomato Edition Black credit card holders will get a free automatic upgrade to the new tier, while everyone else who receives the invite will have to pay a separate fee to avail its benefits. It will be interesting to see what Zomato Pro Plus costs, and whether the subscription cost offers any tangible advantage over the net connection cost incurred by regular users of the service.
