The spatial audio feature for audio provides a “theater-like experience” when you are watching a film.
If you subscribe to Netflix and own a pair of AirPods Pro or AirPods Max, then this news is for you. After Disney + and HBO Max, Netflix can add spatial audio support for AirPods Max and AirPod Pro Pro.
According to a report by iPhoneSoft citing a streaming Netflix developer, the streaming giant is asked to test the feature from December. It is being claimed that Netflix may launch the feature in Spring with a “small catalog”. Apple’s own Apple TV + service already supports
What is spatial audio and how does it work?
For those who are not aware, spatial audio is a feature built inside AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. Essentially, the spatial audio feature provides a “theater-like experience” for audio when you are watching a movie. The spatial audio gives the AirPods Pro or AirPods Max a surround sound effect as if the sound is coming from the surround sound speaker compared to your AirPods. This results in a more sound that adjusts automatically, thanks to the ability of AirPods to track your head moves.
Spatial Audio currently works on AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. To use spatial audio, you need to pair your AirPods with the iPhone 7 or later. This feature works with many compatible iPads, including the third-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, 11-inch iPad Pro, third-generation iPad Air, sixth-generation iPad, and fifth-generation iPad mini. Obviously, all these devices need to run on iOS 14 or the latest version of iPadOS.
