FIFA World Cup 2022:Qatar’s biggest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup, will begin on Sunday. The tournament will be held from November 20 to December 18 and Qatar will face hosts Ecuador in the first match of the tournament.
Jungkook of BTS will perform at the opening ceremony. A total of 64 matches will be played in the tournament. Qatar came under heavy criticism as a choice to host the tournament as the country faced allegations of corruption and bribery.
The 2022 FIFA World Cup will begin on 20 November with a ceremony that will be preceded by the opening Group A match between host nation Qatar and Ecuador. The party is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm. The opening ceremony was due to take place before Qatar’s first match on Monday, which would have created the unusual situation of having two matches ahead. The first match was started a day later in Qatar.
FIFA has not yet released the full list of performers at the opening ceremony. According to BTS, one of the seven members of the South Korean boy band, Jungkook, will perform a song titled “Dreamers”. According to The Telegraph, The Black Eyed Peas, Robbie Williams and Nora Fatehi were also mentioned as possible opening act performers.
It was rumored that British singer Dua Lipa would perform and the singer denied this. According to some Spanish media reports, it was also reported that Shakira would not perform. The Times reported that singer Rod Stewart had turned down a gig in Qatar that would have paid more than $1 million.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 opening ceremony will be broadcast live in India on Sports18 and Sports18 HD TV channels and both the Jio Cinema app and website will offer free live streaming of the event. According to some reports, the ceremony will also be telecast live on Voot.
