Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Swasthya Suraksha Mission:The scheme was announced in 2003 to address the imbalance associated with the availability of tertiary health hospitals and improve medical education in the country. So far 22 AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) have been approved under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.

Under this scheme, the target was set to improve medical education and expand health facilities in the backward states of the country. This scheme was launched in March 2006. Approval was given to continue this scheme from 12th Five Year Plan till 2019-2020. An amount of Rs 14,832 crore has been allocated for this. Let us tell you that this is the master plan of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Purpose of Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Swasthya Suraksha Mission

The objective of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana is to provide reliable and affordable healthcare facilities in different parts of the country. In addition, facilities should be expanded to get higher quality and better medical education especially in underdeveloped countries. There are two components to this plan. In which institutions institutes like AIIMS will be set up, so that changes can be made in health, education and training. Under this scheme, the entire responsibility of the operation of AIIMS lies with the central government.

The name of this scheme of Modi government is Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Bima Yojana.Through this scheme, the government provides benefits to the people of low income group in the country. The premium for this government scheme is only Rs 12 for the whole year, only Rs 1Monthly. Through this scheme, the government provides insurance facility to these people in difficult times.

People in the age group of 18-70 can apply for PMSBY. To take advantage of the scheme, it is necessary to have a savings account. Under this scheme, the insured gets accident insurance of Rs 2 lakh in case of accidental death or total disability. In case of partial permanent disability, a cover of Rs 1 lakh is available. Indians in the age group of 18 to 70 years can avail PMSBY by paying an annual premium of Rs 12 only.
