The first IPL 2021 Qualifier will be held at the Dubai Cricket Stadium between Delhi Capitals and Chennai Super Kings. Delhi are at the top of the league with 20 points and this shows their consistency in performance.

Chennai again reached the playoffs after being eliminated from last year. Chennai’s team reached the playoffs for the 11th time. However, losing three consecutive matches in the end would have angered Chennai’s captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Delhi had to lose its last match as well. Chennai has reached the final eight times so far, out of which it has become champion three times.

Chennai have batsmen like Gaekwad (533 Runs) and du Plessis (546 Runs) who have often given solid starts to the team. Jadeja (227) has shown his batting performance in the recent overs. Similarly, Shardul Thakur (18 wickets in 14 matches) has shown excellence in bowling but Dwayne Bravo (12 wickets) is always ready to make useful contributions. Delhi Capitals may have won 10 matches in the league stage, but hitting them did not show that much confidence. Prithvi Shaw (401 runs) and Shekhar Dhawan (544 runs) played some decent roles but the batsmen could not dominate the Emirates stage.
