75th Independence Day speech in English
Independence Day Speech Freedom Fighters 2021Respected guest sir, principal, all teachers and all parents, as we know that the country is celebrating 75th Independence Day today, we all have gathered here to celebrate independence. Independence Day is a national festival of India. Our country was a slave of the British from 1857 to 1947. After getting independence on 15th August 1947, we were declared as an independent nation. Since then, Indians celebrate this day as “Independence Day” with much pomp and gaiety.
The declaration of independence in India was made by the first Prime Minister of the country, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. He first addressed the nation by hoisting the flag at the Red Fort. Since that day, this practice is going on in the country. On 15 August, the Prime Minister of the country addresses the nation and the army performs its power show and parade march. On the day of Independence Day, there is full enthusiasm along with the feeling of patriotism in the minds of all Indians. Many freedom fighters had struggled for years to get freedom from the British.
This struggle started when Mangal Pandey was shot by the British. Since then the fight for independence had started in the country. After this, fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Mangal Pandey, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Lok Manya Tilak, Lala Lajpat Rai and Khudiram Bose contributed in the freedom struggle. The most important contribution in this struggle is considered to be that of Mahatma Gandhi. He started the Satyagraha movement to fight the freedom struggle and at times he had to go to jail, but he did not give up and from time to time forced the British to kneel through their movements.
