The first glimpse of the reboot of the famous Lamborghini Countach comes through leaked photos on social mediam. After completing 50 years of the iconic supercar, Lamborghini is all set to launch a modern special edition Countach.
Ahead of the expected presentation at Monterey Car Week later this week, Lamborghini’s reborn Countach supercar has leaked online. If these images are legit, they point to the brand using the early LP400 as a starting point for its entertainment, as it lacks the massive rear spoiler and shiny rosette found on later cars.
The triple entry of the classic supercar, which passes through the gap between the doors and the body as well as the sloping bonnet and trapezoidal tail lamp surround, has also been given a facelift. The pop-up lights have been omitted (likely for pedestrian safety concerns), but the new car’s headlight units are the same size as the Countach’s side lights.
It’s possible that the Countach’s entertainer will come with a non-electric V12 – although Lamborghini may also use the car as a test case for future hybrid technology, possibly in a V12 cyan hypercar. It is found to be based on mild hybrid system.
Other leaked information suggests that the latter scenario is most likely. The LPI 800-4 badges have also been leaked on social media, indicating that the new Countach will have an electric powertrain and all-wheel drive. Lamborghini previously used the LPI moniker on the V10-equipped Asterion Hybrid concept in 2014.
